Do you have a pool in your backyard? Whether it is an above ground pool, an on-ground pool (half in the ground and half above) or an in-ground pool, there's no need for it to dominate the rest of your landscape unless you want it too.

Safety Tip 1

The first landscape item you'll need to add to a pool is a safety fence. Pools are considered an "attractive nuisance", and it doesn't matter how many "no trespassing" signs you may have on your property. If an intruder - child or adult - gets into your pool and is harmed - you will be sued for negligence. The only way to protect yourself is to have a fence surrounding the pool.

Safety Tip 2

It's imperative that you keep the area around your pool clear of bric-a-brac. For one thing it will detract from the attractiveness of your pool, but even more importantly it could cause someone to trip, fall into the pool, and perhaps get injured. Even if there's no question of a lawsuit, it's always best if your visitors have a good time and don't hurt themselves!

Alright, that's the grim stuff out of the way. Now let's get to the fun stuff. You've got a pool! What should go with it?

Above Ground Pools

Landscaping around an above ground pool is quite different than around one that is on-ground or in-ground. The above ground pool is so huge and dominating that there's not really any way you can minimize it, so why not place potted plants around it. (You don't want to plant trees or bushes near the pool, as the root system can find it's way underneath the pool and push upward - and the pool must be absolutely level.)

On-ground and In-ground pools

Whatever you have around your pool - furniture or other ornamentation - make sure you place these items more than four feet away from the edge of the pool. This will prevent people from accidently tripping. Have a little shed where you can place all the tools needed to care for your pool, and replace them as soon as you're done using them. Make sure the shed has a lock on it, as you'll be storing chemicals inside it and you don't want them to disappear.

Wicker furniture placed strategically around the pool, perhaps a table with an umbrella pole in the middle...those are the traditional sights seen around a pool. But you can add so much more - a border of decorative stone, potted plants, statuary...even a fireplace.

You can place lights around your pool to illuminate it at night, but beware - if you can't see the bottom of your pool, then you must not go swimming. That's a simple safety precaution. But there's a certain esthetic satisfaction in watching light play across the shimmering surface of water.

You'll want to enjoy your pool for a long time to come. So, safety first, and esthetic values second. But with a little imagination, you can make your pool the shining jewel in your landscape.

Just posting some pictures of our Intex Easy Set Pool, which we purchased in the Summer of 2010. We bought the 18'X48" model. We looked for consumer pictures when we were thinking of purchasing this pool, so I thought these would be helpful. It took about 1-2 hours to set up, and it filled up in about 24 hours. We used the Intex salt water filter, so we didn't have to put in chlorine. The pool was unlevel by about 5 inches, but it was good enough. It wasn't noticeable while in the pool. It took about 48 hours to drain using a small, cheap pump. We used a shop vac to get the last inch or two of water out. We let it dry overnight, then it took about an hour to fold and put away. We put powder all over it while folding to dry any moisture, as the directions said to do. We put it back in the original box and stored in our garage. We'll see how it comes out for year two. I hope this info. is helpful if you're looking to purchase one of these pools. I would say it was well worth the 0 or so that we spent. My only complaint is that the ladder is flimsy and I'm afraid of it holding my weight...but for 0, you get what you pay for.

About 4 years ago I started my online search for an alternative to the Intex pool included sucks. At that time I found this batterySwimming pool vacuum, called Aqua Broom. It was cheap and I decided to shoot it. Well, to my great surprise, was very effective. It would take leaves, pine needles and most stains. I was very happy with my small, inexpensive Aqua Broom. It was much better with the Intex pool vacuum equipment.

But all good things must end. My small, inexpensive Aqua Broom died at the beginning of the fifth year. Boo Hoo. Then it was time to buy another empty swimming pool.But, I thought, well, I'm sure now that has to be perfect a better vacuum in my pool uses Intex pool.

Well, once again I was researching online and Lord and behold, there were other Intex pool sucks. There was a selection of Intex pool sucks. Woo Hoo, because I love choice. After all the research, I opted for the pool Max Blaster for its ability to coarse dust of the company, their "stronger and more powerful engine (compared to his younger brother, catfish and his sister, the Aqua Broom)and, finally, for its well-developed body.

Intex pool vacuum - the ultimate choice

I can honestly say that the pool Blaster Aqua Broom Max as well as love. It glides very well along the pelvic floor and side walls. It does take pine needles, leaves and other debris, algae, sand and dirt. It 'came with two-micron filter that keeps the smaller particles inside the filter bag. To explain this further, I have never used micron Aqua Broom did not knowexisted. While it would be to gather and collect some of the dirt, some would escape back in the pool because the filter is not a scrim to accommodate the smaller particles. Here's a quick tip for you: Do not waste your money to replace the filter bags per micron you can easily buy a knee-high nylon stocking. So that's it, I just saved a few bucks.

The disadvantages of this vacuum cleaner Intex

Let's look at what they do not move through the pool like Blaster Max.Frankly, in my opinion, there are many disadvantages of it. However, not the only thing I really like the battery charge. I was in my small, inexpensive Aqua Broom worked five "D" batteries. It 'was nice and easy. The Pool Blaster Max has a rechargeable battery, which I thought was a good thing and I still think. However, it must be recharged up to 1 hour or less to obtain for 12 hours. I get two pool drawn from a single charge, but then Ilet dry and reconnect it to reload. Well, this is a big problem, but I'm a creature of habit, and liked to pack up and go routine that was used to. Because the Aqua broom, when the batteries are dead, I opened it, replace and continue to suck. But the greatest strength is my pool Blaster Max is much more powerful because of the higher battery voltage. So, as with most things in life, I had a bad thing with a good cause, balanced, and I take the most powerful engineintake because now spend less time and my pool is much cleaner.
